Last week I had the privilege of working with a crew of talented individuals at the Rogue Winterfest an annual event held at the Bear Hotel. The Winterfest crew transformed the space into a magnificent winter wonderland. The Bear Hotel staff and artists put on a 'Christmas in Mars' that was truly out of this world. The collaboration of the two was a perfect recipe for success! The proceeds of this event goes to helping organizations such as SOASTC and Options for Southern Oregon. If you didn't get a chance to see the trees on display make note for next year, it is worth the trip. For those of you who want to check out Christmas in Mars you still have a chance. When asked to decorate the two trees in the lobby my apprentice KC, and I, jumped at the offer. Fifty dollars in hand....we headed to the Dollar Tree. Inspired by the Christmas in Mars displays, we wanted to go with that theme.

Helping out with this event was a great way to get into the Christmas spirit of giving. We enjoyed every single hour we volunteered and look forward to getting even more involved next year!
