Floral Artistry

"Every child is an artist. The problem is how to remain an artist once he grows up"
- Pablo Picasso
Picasso's Summer Bouquet
I like to think of myself not as a florist.  I think of myself as a Floral Artist.  Not every bouquet is a unique piece of art.  But when the oppurtunity arises to create something truly unique and distinctive, well, that simply brings an artist much joy.
Bouquet & Bout made with organic florals and recycled computer parts

While on one of my trips to Southern California working with my sister's company, we were given a challenge.  Create a 'green' wedding theme for a display at a book signing.  We brainstormed and came up with the idea to tear apart an old computer and use the parts to make various wedding items.
What we didn't anticipate was how much work it is to tear apart a recycled comptuter.  We sat in her garage with hammers and other tools hacking away.  We laughed so hard as computer parts flew across the room.
At the end of the day, we had created a bouquet, boutonniere, centerpiece, and table number out of computer parts and organic floras.  We we proud to display our unique works of art!
I am excited to have a wedding this summer here in Southern Oregon that the bride has an artistic and eclectic flair.  We are having so much fun designing her wedding!
